Those buildings which communicate and express something gently are called good architecture.

The source of architectural statements are the building program,building type&technology,site etc. And the visual ordering techniques are signs and symbols,symmetry,similarity,patterns,figure,center of gravity etc.Architectural mode of communication includes vision,temperature,sound,touch,and humidity. 

If any architectural form is not thought as a total composition of components that will give misleading information, in the design process the architect must evaluate the appropriateness  of the visual stimulus.A logical order of building construction will develop images visually while providing good physical enclosure.

Approach stimulation to image in architectural design are the building program,type and technology, site,architect style and environmental and behavioral studies.The first one building program si about room shapes and sizes,how long the space is used and by who, equipment and enviromental control.

The building type 

Each building type is symbolic of its function in the society. The symbolism of a building is shown by the images which have taken meaning by the change of time. The site analysis: technical information concerning the site potential for serving the proposed facility , surface water drainage, access to utilities etc.The architects style : the distinctive qualities of form given a project which allow us to group  projects  as representative and individual’s.

Environmental behavior and studies:

The resources about human behavior and environmental are important sources for architectural statements , because architect can predict behavior on space.

Technology has changed the basic form of office towers, great stadiums are moved to new configurations on cushions of air and space.Also the importance of visual expression of the selected technology must be considered together with the elements of the building program and type.Visual ordering technique: proximity diagramming is an analysis technique that is useful in generating preliminary sense of the building potential forms.It has two hierarchies scale of the different spaces of the diagram with the larger elements having more importance and the location of elements within a sequence of spaces like traditional house,entry etc.

Signs and symbols are used in architecture designs to focus the attention of building or spaces of the building.Human mind is structured to perceive the environmental in a way that organizes our visual field into distinct and related parts , this phenomena is called gestalt psychology. The designer has 2 opportunities to configure forms. Selecting parts of the composition the designer wants to be perceived as related and then applying the characteristics of gestalt patterns to ensure that they will be taken as a group. The designer may analyze a developing design to see what gestalt organizations are formed.

Figures are seen as being on grounds and are what we organize our view and understanding of the physical environment around like entry. Our understanding of other parts of a form or composition develops from their relationship with the centre. The mind simplifies the visual elements in order to understand it. Similarity: An object form, color , texture etc are attributes that can be use ti develop very subtle hierarchies between it and other objects.Things which  share visual characteristics such as shape, texture, color size, value are seen as belonging together.Proximity is a concept which allows the designer to relate two dissimilar objects by placing them near each other.Symmetry produces visual grouping within other groupings to make the experience richer.The concept of  closure involves the visual competition of incomplete objects. Form reproduction is a concept that contends that if we have seen the complete form and then we only see part of it we reproduce the rest of the image from memory. Vignettes are images of spaces that have emotional connotation and they are not exact in the way they are produced. Archetypes are called the specific patterns based on careful research into the optimum form of their specific use. Patterns: Structural and mechanical system follow well defined patterns. Each system has a pattern and range of use that must be matched to the requirements of the function of the building.Design objectives are to maintain the desired hierarchies between the parts of the building, maintain clearly in the expression in the design , developing interest and enjoyment in the design, and to mesh the concerns of hierarchy , clarity and interest with the requirements of physical enclosure.
